Our Story


Renae Bruce-Miller has always been fascinated by travelers and their motives for traveling.

That fascination became an obsession at age 8 when she took her first flight ever as an unaccompanied minor from Kingston to Miami.

That first plane ride left an impression in her young mind about the people on the plane.-Who were they, where were they going and where did they come from?

In the United States with access to encyclopedias and classroom computers, Renae was able to indulge her interest in geography, social studies and history and won several awards for her natural writing talent.

Fortune would have another turn as her parents divorced, with her father in Jamaica and her mother in the United States; Renae returned to Jamaica at age 12 and attend high school at the prestigious Wolmers’ Girls School.

At Wolmers'  she was endowed with unwavering work ethics of holding herself to a higher standard, self- discipline and rock-solid determination while developing her writing skills, for which she was recognized with a distinction in English in the University of Cambridge administered General Certificate Exams at O and A levels.


Still just a teenager, Renae earned the position of  Manager on “Tiki- The Spirit of Jamaica”-a 55 foot party yacht offering sunset cruises to visitors from nearby resorts in Ocho Rios.

Tiki was operated by a former General Manager at Marriott Hotels, who recruited and further mentored Renae into operating and marketing a service based business. She was trained to go above and beyond and to always go the extra mile to make vacations memorable.

In Ocho Rios, Renae was able to meet guests from all over the world, which enlightened her understanding of the traveler and how great vacations impacted people’s lives. She knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life-She wanted to be in the travel business.


Upon her return to the United States at the age of 20; Renae enrolled herself into Travel Careers International at the iconic Flatiron building in NYC-the leading travel training center at the time- providing certifications in Sabre and accredited destination based programs.

In 1998, after completion of her travel program, Renae was quickly hired as a leisure travel agent at AAA travel operated by the Automobile Club of New York in Scarsdale. At AAA, Renae quickly became a star salesperson as she already had firsthand experience with customer service, personal vacation experiences and vendor expertise with brands such as Couples, Melia and Sandals. Renae also had Caribbean and Cruise familiarity which was a valuable skill to her travel customers.

With training for AAA travel 3 hours away from the Bronx to Long Island; there was a lot of time to read and develop her next moves.


While living her travel dreams with an eye on the future; Renae knew that she wanted to be involved in Internet Technology-but simply did not yet have the knowledge of how.

Notwithstanding she became an early investor into Premier Technologies, the parent company of Web MD.

Though her investment activities were fruitful and her career was thriving- Renae still yearned to complete her college education.

Renae  enrolled herself into Monroe College in New Rochelle-The only hospitality program in the NYC Metro area at the time.

Even though by this- Renae had the responsibilities as a Travel Manager at Fordham University Rose Hill, a full time student and motherhood-she recognized that her education at Monroe had limitations and enrolled in a simultaneous program at The Arts Institute of New York where she studied Restaurant Management and gained a thorough insight for hospitality law, kitchen operations, event planning and food and beverage management.


After the tragic 911 attacks on NYC, Renae moved her family to South Florida, where she became a valid member of American Expresses’ first initiative for Corporate Travel Online.

While at American Express, Renae enrolled in several programs offered by Amex where she learned marketing, brand management and brand identity, she was also able to learn 21 online booking tools in addition to GDS tools Sabre, Apollo and Worldspan. She also amassed the skills of business development and corporate sales strategies while being mentored on accounts such as Lehman Brothers and AT&T.

Renae was impressed by how American Express embrace the internet instead of competing against it. A strategy which she believed was vital to travel business survival. She eagerly learned all that she could because it was not hard to see that the internet had changed how all businesses operated and the travel industry had to also evolve or die.

She decided to also invest into Amex stocks, before moving on to excel in sales roles at  Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.


Later on,  Renae started her own private consultancy in global business development - a decision which afforded her the opportunity to apply her hard won skills in writing, marketing and new market development.

Her global clients ranged from Tourism Bureaus to Private Real Estate Resort Developers to whom she has provided services from print collateral to marketing strategies and strategic value capture models.

Renae has always fully enjoyed her work as she traveled, cruised and sailed heartily. Renae has amassed an impressive list of friends from all walks of life as well as high profile business connections all of whom enjoys her quick witted, jovial personality, her willingness to support others and produce brilliant out of the box ideas.


In 2013 Renae developed her first technology company Proudli LLC, designed to serve and prepare global SMEs for trading into China.

As a business strategist, Renae understood that the New Maritime Silk Road, the widening of the Panama Canal and the increased demand for Chinese goods meant higher inflation and low competitiveness for Western businesses.

Renae threw her entire weight behind her new initiative sacrificing all of her material possessions into creating a solid process. She clearly understood that the Chinese also wanted to import goods into China and set about to creating a platform to make cross border trade more accessible.

In 2015 Renae was invited to Technology Boot Camp at Oasis 500 in Amman Jordan, that same year; Proudli was recognized as a favorite at the Zhengzhou Investors Forum by Plug and Play-the investors behind PayPal and Dropbox.

With Renae pitching, Proudli was also a favorite at Plug and Play’s Camp Unicorn in Beijing China, where she was invited to remain in China to prove the Business Model at the Sias Amidi Incubation Center in Henan operated by Plug and Play.

2016 Saw Renae assiduously proving her business model setting up offices in Jamaica and China, however she was very early to market with cross border e-commerce for trading into China.

In January 2017 Renae won the Jamaica Stock Exchange Pitch Challenge with her export into China App, Proudli.

In April 2017, Renae was invited to the United Nations Global E-Commerce week in Geneva Switzerland, to share her story on the state of E-commerce and readiness in developing countries global trade.
